A Patriarchal Blessing given by William McBride, Patriarch upon the head of Emily Millgate; daughter of William Millgate and Mary Fekins. Born at Preston Kent England, September 25th, 1868.
Sister Emily, In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I lay my hands upon your head, and by the authority of the Holy Priesthood, I seal upon thee a Patriarchal Blessing. I say unto thee be thou faithful unto the end of thy days, for thou art called, chosen, and set apart in a former dispensation, to come forth in the dispensation in which we now live, to bear thy part in the redemption of Zion, and in the restoration of they daughters of Israel through the loins of Ephraim and an heir to all the blessings of the daughters of Jacob, and thou shalt yet become a teacher and a councilor to the daughters of Jacob in a language thou dost not understand, and thou shalt do a work for the salvation of thy fathers house both to the living and for the dead for many generations back.
Thou shalt have dreams and visions and manifestations of the Holy Spirit, and shall learn to read the whisperings of the still small voice which will make known unto thee the mind and will of the Father, to give thee power to choose unto thyself a true companion that will help thee to perform thy mission here upon the earth, and will secure unto thee an everlasting inheritance and thou shalt stand on thine inheritance in the morning of the first resurrection as a Mother to a numerous posterity. For I seal the words of this blessing upon thee in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
